Beautiful hotel in a wooded area with lovely grounds and exceptional architectural design and decoration. Stunning views and quiet location with easy access to local attractions. All staff were very good, (special mention to Anshika in the restaurant) and the food was excellent too. Our room was spacious, excellent beds, nicely furnished. Downsides? Acoustics in the rooms are bad, with sound amplified from any doors closing as well as between the rooms. It is impossible to close the doors quietly, plus the (locked) interconnecting doors between the doors rattle each time the door to either room is closed. The hotel is marketed at both “tranquility and serenity” and families with small children and that’s not always possible.

Overall good ambience clean rooms with spacious area and beautiful greenery. The kitchen service was somewhat slow, specially roti. Also AC filters were somewhat choked though weather being pleasant.

I had great expectations of a luxurious getaway in the hills and wanted “nothing but the best”. Sadly, I was very disappointed. The hotel is rather far from everything, and not even well placed for secluded walks, being on a steep incline which is a busy road, with no walking path. They have a shuttle service, but it is too restrictive. Consider offering it all day, perhaps at a fixed timing, eg every half hour or every hour. Breakfast was a disappointment. Hot food stalls should be more visible, instead of being hidden away. There is no ambience. Outdoor seating is sadly off limits due to the monkey menace. And extremely slow service, even though it was not busy, with only about 20% occupancy! Even a juice at breakfast took 30 minutes. Hot food took longer! Complimentary high tea is a nice touch, but options can be more varied, and include healthy canapés perhaps? Again, service was painfully slow. Service at the bar was slow. And the cocktail (pardesh pani) was watered down and tasteless. The veg skewers were too much veg and too little paneer, and undercooked and too chewy. Live music in the evenings is nice. But if you’re looking for a “happening” vibe, that isn’t to be found. The spa area is terrible. No seating, no welcome drink, no comfortable reception. There wasn’t even any staff there, I had to call reception to ask them to send someone. Though the therapist was good and the massage was nice. The gym is tiny and basic. Compare with the one in Hyatt Kochi for instance, which was fab! Housekeeping needs to pull up their socks. Our room was not cleaned till after 3pm on day 1, though we were out for 5 hours! Turn down service is basic, most hotels leave little treats in the room. There is no bathtub in the bathroom. And no coffee machine!! Like who puts Nescafé instant coffee satchets in a 5 star hotel! Overall, not worth the price. Stay elsewhere.

Visited for 3 nights on 2nd May 2025. Drive :- the sign boards are not appropriate, google maps messes up and the lack of proper sign boards adds to this. Reaching the resort after entering McLeod is painful , the climb up the resort is also steep. Reception :- in an empty reception only 1 person works and others pretend to be busy, should be more proactive. Rooms :- very nice and clean 5* for that , even the lobby and common areas are absolutely beautiful and well maintained Restaurant :- on 2nd night very few guests were there still it took them 20 minutes to serve one roti. The waiters went even paying attention if any guest needs anything. Somehow everyone pretends to be busy. Next morning breakfast waiters were just turning up with random food stuff asking if we had ordered “Plain dosa” , “poori bhaji” the omelette got served twice and juice was never served. The restaurant manager and chef do the formalities of asking if food is good (you can make out that they aren’t interested) If services were upto the mark this hotel would be great but because of services it’s worth giving a miss !!
