Nestled in a gated and secluded property, Storybook Hideaway is a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life, perfect for gatherings of family or friends. The main cabin and detached cottage feature spacious outdoor living areas and ample seating to enjoy the wooded vistas, songbirds, and the frequent deer families that make our property home. As our ancestors knew, the best place to tell stories of your own is around a communal fire, and this property provides three options: a large outdoor firepit, recently regraded and graveled, and two wood-burning fireplaces. One is in a beautiful fully screened porch and the other in the cozy living room inside the cabin. The main cabin is entirely surrounded by a wide porch featuring mountain pioneer style furniture, a picnic table, and string lights. Each of the bedrooms is tastefully themed in the fashion of storybook favorites. In the large, main cabin there is a fully appointed kitchen and dining table, living room, the Call of the Wild bedroom, and one bathroom. Upstairs, a loft, with sofa, desk, and bookshelves, provides a quiet place for those who either need to finish a couple of quick work details or escape to another place and time with their favorite book. The Huckleberry Finn and Little House on the Prairie bedrooms and one bathroom are on the upper level as well. On the lower level of the house is a two-player indoor basketball game, foosball table that coverts to ping-pong and other games, a card table that converts into bumper pool table, and a 55” TV with DVD player and Wii console. The lower level also has a laundry room, bathroom, and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow bedroom, with its own entrance onto a private porch. The hot tub is in a fully screened porch off of the entertainment room.

You’ll find three unique bonuses at Storybook Hideaway. First is the Hansel and Gretel cottage, which provides a little extra privacy for those newlyweds in the family or those celebrating the silver years of their journey together. The cottage has its own kitchenette (stove, oven, microwave, sink, and full-sized refrigerator/freezer), private bedroom, bathroom, and its own front porch. Second, it's a wonderful place for your furry friends to explore, as it is dog-friendly, with heavy wooden gates that close off the stairs to the porch, allowing you to keep your pup gated while you both watch for squirrels. Third, there is an 8-minute walk to the Toccoa River from the property. While it’s a steep walk, up and down, if you can bring folding chairs or find a mossy seat it’s worth it to enjoy the rushing water. In the summertime, wave to the tubers floating by!

The property is only an 8-minute drive towards the Shallowford Bridge area to the Toccoa River where all sorts of adventures await you. Van Zandt’s Grocery is a 5-minute drive and offers breakfast, lunch, and a few of the most-needed items, like marshmallows for roasting.
