We stayed at Mahali for four nights in September 2025. This was part of our honeymoon trip. We thought this hotel was absolutely stunning! We were in awe when we walked in to the grounds of this hotel, the pool and the beach were amazing. We even got to see a whole monkey family in the trees at the resort which we loved! During our stay in Zanzibar we stayed in Stonetown, Nungwi and Paje, and Paje was by far the most amazing beach I have ever been to. There are crystal clear waters and the tide goes in and out so much but it is amazing to see. The sunsets here at the beach bar were incredible, and amazing cocktails! The staff in the bar were so friendly and fun! The food at Mahali was amazing, I loved all of the food at the beach bar for lunch, and the breakfast was lovely and it was a beautiful setting. The staff came around to check everything was ok each morning and we felt well looked after. We booked a trip to the Rock Restaurant and the reception staff kindly helped to book a taxi there and back. The hotel is on the beach and we thought Paje was a lovely area with nice shops and a lovely food court close by. We ate at Zhulu which is the sister hotel to Mahali for two meals at night and the food was incredible. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful. We would strongly recommend a visit to this hotel! X

I cannot say enough about this place! Stayed in October and had a fabulous 5 days! Staff was so friendly and helpful, they always greeted you with a smile and asked how you were. The place is immaculately clean rooms are large and quiet. Breakfast is super everything about it was absolutely wonderful. Just a short walk to any shopping you may want to do and a 24 hour grocery store is within minutes. A special thank you also to Neema and Sweety who made our stay extra special! Restaurant has a great selection, and they have a sister hotel that you can also go to and add to your room total if you choose to. Would definitely stay again .

Sehr sch?nes Hotelzimmer mit direktem Blick auf den wunderbaren weissen Sandstrand (Zimmer Simba), sehr freundliches Personal, super Lage, super Essen.

Great hotel: good food (service at the restaurant slowly), all are VERY NICE & WELCOMING, clean, big rooms, great location, service was amazing. Only 1 thing: Weak water flow on shower

I stayed in the Zazu suite and it’s very nice but also right above the restaurant and music doesn’t turn off until around 10. The property is clean and the staff is very nice. They made scheduling taxis pretty easy. There was no mosquito net in my room and so I actually was bit by more mosquitos here than on safari. Overall was a nice stay and would recommend.

Our last week on Zanzibar was spent on the best hotel i ever stayed in. Everything was great, rooms, pool, food and best of all the Lovely staff

The location was fantastic, right in the heart of Paje with a pool going right onto the beach, the staff were super friendly. The food at the restaurant was amazing, we ate here most days. Reception were really helpful when I discovered Id left a bag at my previous hotel and they called the hotel for me and offered to arrange a driver. Whist the people were very friendly, the service at breakfast and in the beach bar was terrible. If you didn't catch their eye when you walked in, you had no hope. This didn't stop us eating in the beach bar as the food was fantastic but every time we sat for ages, waited ages for drinks, had to ask for menu's, chase up food etc. This was not us being impatient, e.g. we ordered drinks, there were two other tables in the bar, it took 20 minutes to bring two drinks. At least twice we waited 40 minutes for food. There were a couple of really good waiters but if they were not on, you knew it would be a disaster. They need to be more proactive, looking around rather than huddling by the serving hatch. Also if you have any mobility issues at all, or even a push chair, this place and Paje in general is not for you.

Emplacement idéal en bord de plage avec tout le confort nécessaire. Nous remercions chaleureusement Lucie employée dans l'h?tel pour sa bienveillance et sa gentillesse, elle a toujours été présente lorsque nous avions besoin d un conseil ou d un service. On a aussi très bien mangé au restaurant de l' h?tel avec un service impeccable. Merci à tout le personnel d'avoir rendu notre séjour en famille incroyable.

Chambre très grande avec vue sur l'océan et la piscine, complexe à taille humaine. Marée haute l'eau arrive à la limite de l'h?tel, marée basse on peut marcher plusieurs kilomètres sur le sable blanc. Personnel super agréables et.tres sympathique. Restaurant et petit déjeuner excellents (sauf l'ananas) Notre meilleur h?tel sur l'?le de Zanzibar.

Mahali is very nice with different chill spots. The place and especially the staff (Jery) make it 5 stars. They give you a very welcoming feeling. Also, the beers are the cheapest and have the best cocktails! (Made by Jery) Even if you don't stay at the hotel (like we didn't) it's a great spot to enjoy the beach!
