Excellent time and stay at the Tannery . We had a cookery demonstration from Paul to begin with ,very relaxed and informative. Then a cook off followed by lunch . Dinner in the evening was super and the guest bedrooms very comfortable and spacious. All in all a wonderful experience Thank you

We booked a one night stay and evening meal at the Tannery Townhouse. The restaurant was very good with a nice selection of food. Service was overall good until it came to dessert time. Menus were delivered to the table, but nobody came back to take our order. We could not get anyones attention to take our order. After about 45 minutes, I had to go up to them and ask for them to take our order. But the food was excellent, as was the breakfast the following morning. The Townhouse accommodation consisted of a bedroom up a steep stairs. There is no reception area or common area to sit down and read a book etc. It is described as a hotel but it is only a room up a stairs. The room was nicely decorated but extremely warm during the night. No air-conditioning. The window was open, but the wooden blinds blocked any air from entering into the room. There was zero soundproofing between bedrooms. Every sound could be heard from the next room. At €210 for B&B, it is well overpriced in my opinion.

I had high hopes for The Tannery, given its reputation and price point, but unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from start to finish. We specifically booked an early bird table for 6:45pm on a Thursday, as the early bird menu was advertised until 7pm. However, when we arrived, we were handed the regular menu. I queried this with our waitress, who told us the early bird had finished. When she returned with bread and water, I showed her the Tannery’s own website, which clearly stated the early bird was available until 7pm. She glanced at it and simply said the website was wrong and the early bird was over—no offer to check with a manager, just a flat refusal. This was frustrating, as the early bird menu was the only reason we booked at that time. Otherwise, we would have preferred to eat later. Our only options were to leave or order from the regular menu. Since we were on holiday and didn’t want to search for another restaurant, we reluctantly stayed. Service throughout the evening was underwhelming. The staff were all very young and clearly lacked training. For example, expensive screw-top bottles of wine were brought to the table and opened with a perfunctory “do you want to try?”—not the level of service you’d expect at these prices. The wine list itself was pricey, especially considering the quality and presentation. The food was generally of a good standard, but not without issues. I had to ask what the “chicken butter” was, and when it arrived, it was so sour it was unpleasant to eat (and I’m not a fussy eater). The rest of the meal was fine, but nothing stood out as exceptional or memorable. When it came time to pay, I spoke to the manager about the early bird menu confusion. Despite having raised the issue three times, there was no apology or attempt to make things right—just a casual “human error” explanation. No discount or goodwill gesture was offered, which left a bad taste after an already disappointing evening. Overall, I left with the impression that The Tannery relies on its reputation and steady stream of customers, rather than actually delivering good service or value. It felt like they knew they could fill the place regardless of whether guests left happy. Sadly, a good name only lasts so long, and based on this experience, I won’t be returning or recommending it to others.

Fantastic experience from start to finish, we were greeted by a very pleasant lady at check in, room was clean, bright and beautifully decorated in neutral colours, a short walk away from the town centre! Breakfast was amazing and the staff could not have been more helpful! Will definitely return, would highly recommend

The townhouse is in a great location close to the town centre and it's sister The Tannery restaurant. Our room was quite comfortable but there is a significant noise problem; we were able to hear a ping from a mobile phone in an adjacent room. Our main courses for breakfast in the Tannery restaurant were disappointing.

We had a wonderful, memorable stay. The food was divine, the service was excellent and it was amazing to see Paul in the kitchen. Quite often that's not the experience in some other celeb chef kitchens. The passion and drive for perfection is seen across the team. We can't wait to go back again!

This is great option for a stay in Dungarvan. The rooms are lovely and have all you need. The restaurant is brilliant and the wine bar offers a high quality alternative. All of the staff were pleasant and really attentive during my stay. Dungarvan is a lovely town to visit for a short break. Would highly recommend both the accommodation and food offerings.

Great location if you’re there for pleasure, unfortunately I was there for business (shame!) The lady on reception was super friendly and helpful, the room was really nice, clean and modern. 5 out of 5 from me ????

A beautifully appointed, self-contained room. Comfortable, clean and spacious. Great breakfast in The Tannery Restaurant across the road. Excellent, attentive, friendly staff. Our room was beautifully serviced on day 2 of our stay.
