Guest：We stayed at this elegantly restored ancient house in southern Italy for two days and left feeling like we had always lived there, perhaps in some distant past century. The perfectly restored walls showed traces of thousand year old frescos with beautiful stone steps revealing the wear and tear of ancient Greek and Roman owners. The current owner Roberto is not only an architect but also a historian of merit. Chef Moussa’s culinary skills were most appreciated and the superb hospitality we experienced would be hard to surpass anywhere. Do not miss this gem!
Guest：Our stay at Critabianca was a delight. Our suite was a welcomed oasis of calm at the end of each day. Tastefully and sparely furnished, our every need was met with simple elegance. The entire restoration is faultless. The dinners in the courtyard reflected the same aesthetic. The consistent attention to detail created fresh, simple, and refined meals. The relaxed ambience under the fruit trees nudged us to linger over both the breakfasts and dinners. Lovely and delicious! Critabianca is well located in central Salento making both shores equally accessible. Everything in Salento was within reach. Finally, and most importantly, the hospitality of the Ghione family was without par. We met at the front door and left three days later as friends. I am hoping to return soon.
Guest：We loved our stay at Critabianca. Roberto, Roberta, Nicoletta and Alessandro were terrific hosts - so warm, and informative. They all greeted us when we arrived - we felt like we really mattered to them as guests. Their recommendations and pointers on the region were spot on - we planned each day's activities with them and were never disappointed. They were great ambassadors for the Salento and Puglia. We rented three rooms as we were six people. All the rooms were well appointed and clean. The mattresses were comfortable. Each room had a safe and the bathrooms were large and clean. The building is an old farmhouse that has been beautifully restored. It's located in the countryside just outside a small town. It was a pleasure to spend our time there. The pool was large and clean - wonderful to jump into after a long day out and about. A car is a definite necessity. We were provided with breakfast each morning and what a breakfast it was! Fresh brioche buns, tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh fruit, jams, a different cake each day, eggs as you like them (omelette, scrambled, fried) and your choice of coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea or hot chocolate. All the ingredients come from the farm or from the area and the breakfast is beautifully presented. I would return to Critabianca in a heartbeat! Many thanks for a lovely holiday!
Guest：If you appreciate personal attention by a family dedicated to make your stay a happy and comfortable one, Critabianca is the place to go. Lovely people, great food (with in particular an exceptional breakfast) and such a beautiful country estate are not easily matched anywhere else. A joyous welcome immediately made us feel at home. The enthusiasm displayed by Nicoletta and Roberto when proudly showing the house, was easily matched by Roberta and Mousa in the kitchen. Of course, the house being in a more rural area, it is much more quiet than if it were in town. That also implies that you require transport to get around. But the location is very suitable to reach most other parts of the southern heel of Italy’s boot well within the hour. We will certainly return!
