Guest：Very nice environment in a family atmosphere. The room is cosy and comfortable. Chantal knows how to welcome the guests. Breakfast is nice and it allows to speak with other guests. Heating the room can be improved but it’s acceptable. The area around is very silent at night.
Guest：The room itself lovely mostly due to the wonderful shared terrace overlooking the vines. Breakfast also lovely, serving croissant and local cheeses. However, the owner needs to refine things a bit as we were made to feel on the defense from the first minute upon arrival. Despite emails sent to the owner notifying her of our slightly earlier arrival coupled with a confirmation message, we were scolded immediately upon arrival. Furthermore, we had to listen to a monologue that she was alone, everyone always asking for her, going on and on as if we added to her stress. I ask, if one feels such pressure hosting guests, why operate a B&B? Entering the home, we were then told to remove our shoes. I would understand if we were in Japan as guests in a Ryokan, but who asks their guests to remove their shoes and leave them in a common area even prior to checking in? For the rest of our stay, we felt observed, monitored and hounded. All eyes on us as we incorrectly placed an ice bucket on a cupboard, as we inadvertently dropped a drop of water on a glass table, etc etc. Even at check out where we had to withdraw cash as we were told only at check in that payment was cash only, did I receive multiple messages that we had to pay. This due to the fact that the owner had a physician's appointment prior to check out time therefore cutting our stay short and once again, making us feel incredibly unsettled. Definitely not the most peaceful stay we ever had and one of the most unnerving hosts we've encountered. Such a shame as the location is very convenient if one is visiting the champagne region.
Guest：Great place to stay on the edge of Epernay - about 25 min walk to the town centre. Hotel is really nicely furnished and has lovely outdoor space where you can sit and take in the evening sunshine. Breakfast was excellent too.
Guest：It was a pleasure to stay at Au Coer des Vignes, a proper Chambres D'h?tes. Chantal is a very kind and thoughtful host, and with our basic school French we managed to have many helpful and enjoyable conversations together. On arrival she gave us a wonderful welcome, and a clear explanation of how everything worked. The accommodation is in a two storey annex near to Chantal and José's own home, with five chambres. Our room was perfect for us. Beautifully decorated. Very comfortable king size bed, great walk in shower, high pressure and lots of hot water. Ample storage space. The shared decking area was a few steps away at the rear of the building, and a perfect place to enjoy a last glass of the day watching the warming sun go down over the vines of Pinot Noir. Downstairs was a delightful breakfast room cum kitchen, which we made good use of. Chantal was very attentive to ensure we had a good first meal of the day, laying on orange juice, good coffee, breads, pastries jams, and cheese. The location is great for épernay centre and the champagne houses - whether you take the car - 5 mins, or go on foot - 25 mins (the last hundred yards on the return is up a bit of a steep hill). With no hesitation we would recommend this place, and hope we can return one day.
