A truly excellent hotel. Superb location- close to both rocks with great views of both of them. All of the staff were wonderful. The restaurant was super - both food and service. Superlatives all round - highly recommended !

This was the most amazing and beautiful hotel experience. The resort is superbly positioned with incredible views and a beautiful pool . We loved every minute and we also ate every meal at the lovely restaurant. The food is delicious and the staff very professional and friendly. Our special breakfast in the tree house was amazing. The helpful tuk tuk service is invaluable for the morning climbs and we so loved the elephant excursion.. straight from the resort. We were picked up in a safari truck and enjoyed the open air drive both to and back from the national park. Everyone and everything was excellent. The lovely owners took great care of us and organised a driver to pick us up from our airport hotel and then to drive us down to Galle a few days later. Our driver was excellent too. I spend weeks researching the hotels in this area as there are many however seriously this was exceptional in every way and great value too. Look no further than.. just book. We booked directly and this was the best. Thank you to all the team

Without a doubt, I can say about this place that it is the best I stayed in during my 3-week trip in Sri Lanka. The resort with an extremely good position facing the two important rocks (Lion Rock and Pidurangala) is tastefully done and with great attention to detail. The owners, locals, but with Canadian experience given their previous jobs, are educated people, attentive to detail and with perfect good taste. My room was in the tree house, which offered you a view somewhat above the jungle, over the neighboring lake and also towards the two rocks. Clean, equipped with everything you need, including a flashlight to use at night when you go for a walk (I want to specify that the area is full of vegetation, which gives you the pleasant appearance of the jungle) it has a perfect view. Its terrace also does a lot by extending the living space that the room gives you. The entire resort is well organized and very beautiful. The restaurant, with great taste, local or international dishes at the highest standard, equivalent to any top restaurant in the world, I think it is the best restaurant in the area. The impeccable service. The breakfast as well is surprising in the most pleasant way. There are two breakfast options, one traditional and one continental, both with impeccable plating, not to mention the taste of the dishes. The central pool can be a point of relaxation, between the tours you can do in the area (at least that was the case for me). Located somewhat remote, from the rest of the town, the resort gives you privacy, but at the same time you feel immersed in the middle of nature. The owners, - two extremely pleasant, educated people, are ready at any time to help you, to provide you with information both about the place and about what you can do in the area. It is extremely easy to get to and leave from here in a tuk tuk. However, we also found bicycles in the resort, which allowed us to move around the area without any problems. I highly recommend the resort, both the accommodation and the restaurant, where you can also come and have a gastronomic experience without staying here (I guess by reservation).

A real gem of a hotel. Our room was spacious, clean with a wonderful view of Sigiriya rock. A plunge pool was located outside our room and was ideal for lazing and soaking up the atmosphere. The hotel has a lovely restaurant and pool area, the food was pretty good and service was impeccable. Breakfasts in particular were very good and possible the best we had on our trip. A real find and highly recommended.

This is a high end hotel that is worth every penny. Excellent service from start to finish, beautiful location convenient for Sigiriya and other excursions, very good food. If you want to pamper yourself, this is the place.

We recently spent 4 nights at Sigiriya King's Resort at the start of our 3 week Sri Lankan tour. And it completely spoiled us for anything else. The setting is beautiful, with views of Sigiriya Rock and surrounding area from the rooms and the communal spaces. It's a small resort, just 9 rooms so it felt very calm and quiet. The property grows a lot of its own food, including their own rice (and then serves it in their restaurant!) There are also a herb garden and fruit orchard, and we got to enjoy a lot of the bounty in our meals. We were on a half board accommodation and the meals were consistently good. Breakfast was a treat--fresh fruit, juices, smoothies, yoghurt, pastries and then something cooked to follow. Absolutely no need for lunch. One of our most memorable moments was having breakfast served in the treehouse. If it's offered, you must do it--truly special. Our deluxe deluxe suite was spacious and very comfortable, and had its own little plunge pool. Plus, fresh cookies were left in our room each day. Such a lovely touch. The staff were warm and attentive without being overbearing, and it was a great base for visiting Sigiriya and nearby sites. On our last night, we asked if we could have a Sri Lankan meal and the staff wheeled out a delectable and generous selection of seafood and vegetarian curries. It was a wonderful way to end our stay. It's clear that the owners and the staff really care about their resort. Without any hesitation, we'd recommend it if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area.

We couldn’t ask for a better place to stay after a very busy day traveling from London. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The suite was very special with an amazing view across the lake and the magnificent Sigiriya Rock. Which is as amazing as it looks in all of the guide books. The hotel had its own rice field and fish ponds too. We didn’t get to use the swimming pool due to the rain but it looked very inviting. The food in the restaurant was fabulous too and staff so helpful and friendly and food presented well. The grounds and garden framed the local scenery despite the rainy weather. I would recommend anyone to stay here if they are travelling through Sri Lanka.

Absolut alles war einfach perfekt! Wir haben uns von der Anreise bis zur Abreise absolut besonders und wie der Besitzer sagte "zu Hause" gefühlt. Es ist zwar nur eine kleine Unterkunft mit ein paar Zimmern (sehr sauber) aber man hat direkten Blick auf den Lowenfelsen und ein See ist angrenzend. Es war so sch?n ruhig, die Luft dort war so klar auch nie Rauchgeruch. Aber der Service und die Küche haben unsere Erwartungen um 100% übertroffen. Wir waren schon in vielen Sternerestaurants zu Gast und dieses hat keinem etwas nachgestanden. Der Service als auch die Küche waren h?chstes Niveau. Das hatten wir nicht erwartet. Unser Sohn hat eine schwere Lebensmittelallergie aber in diesem Restaurant waren wir sicher, dass ihm nichts passieren wird. Die Hygiene war einwandfrei und das ist schon ein Kunstwerk wenn man bedenkt, dass es nicht in Europa ist. So einen Service oder Küche hatten wir auf unserer gesamten Rundreise nicht wieder. Gerade sind wir noch auf den Malediven und auch hier ist es um einiges schlechter. Deshalb, wenn Sie in Sigiriya sind, sollten Sie diese Unterkunft nicht verpassen.

Dieses Hotel war unser Highlight auf der letzten Sri Lanka Reise :) Die Lage ist hervorragend: Zentral und doch ruhig gelegen, viele sch?ne Ausflugsziele in der N?he und der morgentliche Blick auf die beiden Felsen war atemberaubend! Die Angestellten ware alle durch die Bank weg freundlich, professionell, zuvorkommend und sehr herzlich zu unserem kleinen Sohn. Die Anlage ist klein, aber mit viel Liebe gepflegt. Es gibt jeden Tag viel zu sehen: Verschiedene Tiere, hübsche Pflanzen, einen kleinen Spielplatz, ein Baumhaus in dem man einen herrlichen Blick auf den See hat, den See hinter dem Deich. Unser Zimmer mit eigenem Pool war sehr ger?umig und sauber. Es gab viele Kleinigkeiten wie Adapter, Taschenlampe, Mückenspray etc - wir mussten uns um nichts kümmern. Die Preise für zus?tzliche Mahlzeiten, Getr?nke, W?scheservice, aber auch Ausflüge oder einen Fahrservice zum n?chsten Hotel waren sehr fair, teilweise sogar recht günstig, weshalb wir den Fahrer Kushan direkt 2x "gebucht" haben und w?rmstens empfehlen k?nnen. Das Essen war wirklich klasse! Das kontinentale Frühstück war gro?artig, aber auch jeder Snack und jedes Abendessen waren lecker, frisch, authentisch. Es war ganz sicher nicht das letzte Mal, dass wir hier zu Besuch waren! Das Sigiriya King's Resort steht auf unser "Must Visit" Liste für die n?chste Sri Lanka Reise!
