The staff, food and Leisure club were excellent. The room was compacted and would not suit everyone but make sure you pick the room which suits your needs and budget. The room was clean with excellent facilities with a small TV. The breakfast, staff and the location were all perfect.

Absolutely fantastic location. The bed was comfy, but the room was a bit shabby, ceiling light missing and ceiling needed painting, bath panel hanging off, and the toilet seat was loose. We also found the bar staff to be very vacant. I was just surprised about all of the above as it is a beautiful hotel and comes across as very upmarket.

Interesting place, bedrooms are on the smaller size happy we had a deluxe room, view of the Thames from the room is lovely as is the balcony.. Drinks on the lawn in the sunshine delightful way to spend a sunny afternoon. Great location for town and for walks along the Thames. Shame the spa and swimming facilities closed early on a Saturday and Sunday that was very unexpected and unfortunate. Breakfast was tasty and the waitress friendly. Menu not buffet style. Would certainly return..however it is certainly a club for the older generation.

What a fabulous setting! Calm, relaxed, quiet and beautiful views. Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Outstanding food. We had a lovely view from our room and enjoyed watching the world go by! The hotel is obviously going through redecoration and this will make it feel exceptional. Will definitely return!

Love staying here as a single woman feel safe and a leisurely breakfast Love the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs mind you it is a big serving Love the old fashioned private club feel service is wonderful and location on the river is perfect I have stayed in a few rooms all with views of the river just love it

This is a lovely spot on Earth in late June. Manicured lawns, with croquet pitches lead down from the Edwardian Clubhouse to the banks of the Thames, where pavilions have been set up for watching the rowing races of the Royal Regatta. A form of English paradise. Our room was also splendid, if a little too warm because of the incredibly hot weather. Dinner was also good. The one slight glitch was s misunderstanding, or miscommunication, over the fact that the breakfast we had paid for was only Continental because the club was closed that morning. I did not recall (and still don’t) having been told this beforehand, which led to a discussion with the person at reception. This did not go well. It was not so much that I objected to not being recompensed for the limited breakfast—it might well be that some where in some e-Mail there had been a pro forma warning about the situation— as the rather combative attitude of the staff member, who gave the impression it was my fault I had not received what I thought was my due, as opposed to an unfortunate inability of the club to provide full service that day. A more astute, charming person might have had the intelligence to profusely apologise and then inform me of the fact that an effort had been made to keep me informed, regret that the message had not reached me, and then explain how the closure of the club for regatta preparations has resulted in only a Continental breakfast being provided. That was not, alas, the approach taken by the rather passive-aggressive-cum-defensive person at reception. The resulting altercation at check out put a bit of a damper on our overall experience, but once tempers have calmed, I realise now that it should not detract from a lovely, indeed remarkable, stay, overall.
