  • Guest:I love this place it's so beautiful, friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in a fantastic position right in the centre with an easy flat walk to the ferry points, shops bars restaurants, the hotel itself was clean and tidy we didn't see many staff but we also didn't stay in the hotel much of the day there is too much to explore. Our room was clean tidy, had air con, mini fridge the usual, breakfast was simple but enough and they always found me GF food when needed, we even arrived late one morning and the lovely chap grabbed us coffees and cheeses which was so nice. My only grumble would been the very small roof top pool it was like an ice bath, most people got in and got straight back out. The view up top and great though. Prices around Riva I'd say are average, across Lake Garda, Will defiantly return
  • Guest:Visited Riva Del Garda/Lake Garda for a 7 day break with my wife via Jet 2 - a lovely destination/people and amazing views. Unfortunately the hotel Grand Hotel Riva wasnt the same. We had booked Half Board - i wish we hadnt. The evening meal in terms of selection and quality is poor. We tried it for 3 nights and gave up as the food was continiously poor. On one night my wife ordered a steak and it wasnt cooked fully. Another night, i ordered Veal and ive never seen anything like it.. Breakfast was okay and the staff were friendly enough. The matresses on the beds were hard but we had to get used to that. Another issue for me was the WIFI - I complained to 4 different members of staff that it wasnt available in our room and that i had to travel 5 floors everyday to get a connection, complete what i was doing and then return. I was challenged by reception who said its fine - trust me it isnt, i tried everyday as i need to use my laptop for emails everyday. Not a great experience. We will visit Lake Garda again but not this hotel...
  • Guest:Fantastic location & beautiful lakeside view from balcony. However the hotel was very basic. The rooms were clean but no drawers or cupboards to put things. No shelves in bathrooms so toiletries had to stay in the bags Nowhere to put kettle provided so we used a stool. There was a large crack in patio doors & the balcony was dirty, bird muck on window dirty floor & needed repair. Food in restaurant was average the tiramisu looked & tasted like it was bought in from supermarket in those individual pots. Very small rooftop pool but spa room was fantastic. This basic hotel is not a 4 star hotel.
  • Guest:Not a grand hotel at all Positives - Excellent location - Pleasant staff at reception. - Nice decor - Clean rooms with exception of the windows. - Wellness area is great although it could be improved by providing toiletries to wash with and a selection of different herbal teas. Also bath robes should be available to rent. Negatives - Food is not good, in fact I’d say it’s the worst food I’ve ever eaten in Italy. - Service in restaurant was bad bordering on rude. Nothing explained and no welcome, we had to ask other guests how it worked. - Limited drinks in restaurant with no digestives after dinner. - Only 90 minute window to eat dinner. - Grubby feeling, dirty windows throughout hotel and dirty cigarette stained sun beds. Dirty tablecloths in restaurant, food crumbs from night before on them at breakfast. - Parking is too far away and we had no information about this before booking. (Despite asking at time of booking) We were unaware of charges, this should be advertised prior to booking. I would have preferred to know what to expect. - Air conditioning in room very loud unless on minimum setting. It makes a terrible clicking sound. Needs upgrading or repairing. - Pool not open till 11am, why? We often like to start our mornings early and by the pool but this wasn’t an option.
