Guest：We arrived about 6pm the lady gave us our room key. There was noise mention of where breakfast was or what times breakfast was. The room was clean and comfortable I went to ask the receptionist for extra pillows but she said that she didn’t know where there was any, and that she would ask her colleague. we didn’t get any extra pillows as she said she would bring them to our room, but she didn’t. There was also building work going on which I wasn’t informed about, so at 8am there was drilling and banging and the room was shaking which was not great. We found our way to breakfast which was nice but the restaurant wasn’t in very good condition. It needs updating and the toilets were not very clean.
Guest：Our best visit to any Premier Inn. On arriving amid heavy rain and soaked to the skin we were booked in straight away by the helpful and caring staff on reception. The room was very good. Nice size and a decent bathroom. Reception gave us top information on the best ways into the city centre and were extremely helpful all round. Went for the meal deal of a 2 course evening meal with a free drink and the breakfast. A great deal for the price. The restaurant is located in a separate building 10 yards walk from the main building. The staff in the restaurant were as good as on reception. Welcoming and helpful. The food was so good and the young chef should be proud of herself for producing food which would grace a higher rated establishment. The portions were a good size and the presentation was excellent. As always slept reall well. Overall this Premier inn has to be the best we have stopped in. The staff were all so friendly and will make your stay as enjoyable as ours has been. A massive well done to all who work thete.
Guest：The location of the hotel was ideal for a visit to our family for Christmas. The rooms were on the first floor and v accessible for us and the lift functioned well which certainly helped. The reception staff were stretched as clearly the hotel was running on a Christmas skeleton staff - but nevertheless staff were polite, friendly and helpful - and still smiling. The hotel was clean and the noise level was minimal, the rooms clearly were soundproofed. Only noise was from above and just loud footsteps. The beds were very comfortable and we had what we needed; the blackout curtains were exceptionAl. A pleasing addition would be an extra pillow, as only one each on the double bed. The sink had a plug but the other family room didn’t. The staff member we approached to try to address this was apologetically running between serving the hotel reception desk and the restaurant on Christmas Day, and said she’s try the maintenance cupboard. Unfortunately the plugs she could find were not compatible, so we leant to our family member in the next room who didn’t have one. We said we’re ok to lend ours but of course the long shot of this meant washing in the morning was difficult. The stay included prebooked food at the boathouse on-site premier inn restaurant. The serve yourself buffet breakfast was great on the morning of Christmas Day, with pastries and juices, fruit and yoghurts, cereals, bread, cereals and hot drinks on offer and of course hot breakfasts to order. As the days went on the items available diminished, as did the plates, juices and drinks from the machine and continental styled pastries. The solitary staff member - NAT - dealt with this entire situation with a smile, and she was consistently reassuring that she would replenish items and be on hand in a minute. She was brilliant and people were patient. This is not her fault though as premier inn know of the bookings and really shouldn’t just have Nat as serving, greeting, waiting staff as well as expecting her to replenish stock at the serve yourself, and checking in with tables and clearing them too… BUT that occurred for 2/3 mornings. At one point she was jogging into kitchen to gather juices, bread (which was “still frozen”) and then running up to the hot counter to gather plates with hot breakfasts to deliver to tables, (some plates incomplete) replenish milk into the hot drinks machine and juices into huge jugs which as soon as the jugs were topped up with a container of OJ were once again run out!! So many of us felt sorry, for Nat and were offering to assist her.. and she was always apologetic. Premier inn you would have received 5* if this staff issue wasn’t a major fault on your part. The 5* literally goes to NAT, but 3* to you the actual company and employer stretching staff and resources on a busy period.. and she is a credit to you.
