Guest：I had a wonderful stay at Pen-y-bryn Lodge. The property is a beautiful historic building with a peaceful atmosphere, and the room was spacious, spotless, and full of character. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the stay feel warm and personal. Overall, a fantastic experience — I would highly recommend this lodge to anyone visiting Oamaru.
Guest：We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this unique lodge, hosted by James and James. We felt special and cared for! Although we only stayed one night (I wish we'd had longer), the welcome was warm and our hosts' attention to detail exceptional. We only dipped into the history and character of the lodge and had limited time to relax and enjoy all the special features which a stay here offers. Breakfast at the shared table deserved more time than we had available in our hectic schedule and, having experienced the breakfast, I would have loved to have had an evening meal here too! My recommendation is to plan time to enjoy the lodge as well as Oamaru and its penguins.
Guest：Stayed on New Year's Eve. Wow! We loved our stay here. James and James were perfect hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The Lodge maintains its historical background with all original features with spectacular views to the sea. The facilities were excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable The breakfast was excellent, all home cooked and locally (if not home) produced
Guest：Extremely comfortable stay. The lodge is stunning, as is the hospitality. Everything has been thoughtfully provided and to an exceptional standard. James is a masterful chef, blending flavours from his many travels. Breakfast, canapés and dinner were a gastronomic delight. Both hosts were quick to share their knowledge of both the local area and our onward travel which was much appreciated. It was also nice to share communal meals with other guests.
