  • Guest:Superb hotel. We spent one night here and loved it so much we booked the following weekend for two nights. The setting is quite exquisite nestled on the banks of the Thames. The parkland is vast and beautifully maintained. The courtyard outside the hotel room is landscaped with lily ponds and raised beds. The staff are all welcoming and friendly. Breakfast buffet is well chosen and cooked breakfasts very fresh. We will definitely return.
  • Guest:This is essentially a business college, Henley Business College, but it also operates as a hotel. The rooms are great, not huge, but with enough space, spotlessly clean, with a decent sized bathroom, or should I say shower room, as I don't think any of the rooms have baths. A Nespresso machine, teas and biscuits. All of the rooms are in separate buildings to the main college/house, with the bar and restaurant situated in the main house. If you book a top floor room, you can also have a balcony, worth the extra expense as they looked great. The only thing I found a little disconcerting is that if you stay in a ground floor room, there are footpaths around the outside of the buildings, and people can see in. When getting changed, the blinds need to be closed. Food at breakfast is very plentiful, with a good selection of continental and hot food. You won't go hungry. One of the things you need to be aware of is that during the week, breakfast finishes at 9am. This seems early, but you have to remember that this is first and foremost a college, and hours are worked around the students. This is fine. You can also have an evening meal. Staff are very polite, friendly and efficient. When my partner and I checked in, the lady on reception took us outside to show us exactly where we needed to park that was closest to our room. That doesn't happen very often. The grounds are beautiful, made even more so because they run alongside the River Thames. You'll see boats on the river, and people walking, cycling, running on the opposite bank. The footpath there goes all the way into Henley on Thames, a 10 minute drive away. The grounds are spacious, with an outdoor chess set. In the summer, the restaurant doors open out onto the terrace, where you can sit and eat/drink at the tables and chairs arranged. A wonderful place to stay, away from all the hustle and bustle of the town, but close enough to reach it easily. A bus passes by which takes you into Henley. Would highly recommend.
  • Guest:This is a hotel sited on a student campus. Although its reviews were good, this was a first for us and we didn't really know what to expect. I guess the atmosphere may be different during term time, but during our stay it was really peaceful, despite it being BH weekend. The modern accommodation blocks are around 100-200m from the 'main' older white building that houses Reception, Bar and Restaurant. Our room was clean, well furnished and had good equipment and provisions. The bar area was was very quiet, even when full - you could say it lacked atmosphere. Prices for food and drink were reasonable, comparing favourably to most hotels of similar quality Buffet Breakfast in the restaurant was included in our room rate of £125 for the two of us. As room, service and food were all excellent, this was excellent value. The restaurant has great views of the river, so it was a treat to sit at a table near the window. There's also a terrace outside, which you can use if you happen to get a proper summer weekend ! There was no Housekeeping service available after 6pm.
