The main thing that I didn't like about this hotel was the dark, deserted road I had to walk down to get to it. Having said that, it is only a short walk (down the aforementioned dark road) to restaurants, amenities and the station so it is fairly convenient. The room was small but adequate - quite bare, really, not even a glass for your toothbrush in the bathroom!! The breakfast was exactly what you'd expect from this type of hotel - staff at breakfast were friendly. Generally, it was clean - the floor in reception when I arrived was very slippery and both myself and the man in front of me slid and almost fell over. You get what you pay for - it's not luxurious, but it's OK. The heater in the room made a beeping noise frequently through the night until I eventually turned it off - not sure whether there is any way to disable this beeping noise? Why on earth anyone would want a heater beeping down their ear right next to the bed is a mystery to me. Stay here if you can't afford anywhere better - it's depressing but basically fine.

From the moment we arrived on Saturday 31st of January the ladies on reception were very friendly and helpful, despite being short staffed and rushed off their feet (I'm very sorry I didn't catch their names). On Sunday evening and Monday morning, Nichola was also extremely friendly and, along with the fella in the kitchen, made the evening and following morning a pleasure.

Very well placed hotel. Nicola on reception looked after me very well, knowing I was a lone female guest. She took extra time for a chat which was appreciated

The building, decor and facilities look very new. Great city centre location with nearby car parks. Reception staff very helpful with good local knowledge plus there are restaurant and breakfast options. Room has a hairdryer and it’s quiet . Good option for evening games at Villa park ( or the other team). 10 min walk to New Street station, if it’s dark and you are a solo female, it’s not great as lots of road building works, an underpass and car parks to pass. You can get the tram outside the train station (Nr Greggs - exit to Navigation street), go 2 stops to the Library and then a 5 min walk down Bridge Street past the Hyatt. Buy tram tickets at the stop or the Metro app. Great value for money as I booked well in advance.

Recently stayed at this hotel. Staff are friendly and welcoming, making it feel like a home from home. Breakfast was great and evening meals there’s a wonderful choice and the food was enjoyed by all. Will be back in the summer.

Great stay, welcoming staff, comfortable and clean facilities, great meal options. Had a friendly welcome from reception staff. Dinner service outstanding and great breakfast in the morning

Great staff , great location , One of the top Premier Inns , right on the canal and near to lots of pubs and restaurants plus the Utilia Arena

Great location as it was a short walk to the shops so it was nicely tucked away. The hotel was clean and staff friendly, but the room to me was very small, smaller than other premier inns. From the bedroom to the bathroom. Felt bit disappointed to begin with but got over it as we were out most of the day. We could hear the washing machines going till quite late which I felt was right by us. Breakfast our name and room number had been crossed off every morning by someone else so I don’t know what that was about. Only one lot of towels in our room. If you wanted your room cleaned you had to let reception know before midday. As I say it was on a great location but of all premier inns I have stayed in this was my least favourite. For 3 nights and with breakfast we paid about ￡500 which isn’t cheap so I would probably look at elsewhere next time.

I had a great two-night stay here. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean, and the overall atmosphere was very welcoming. The hotel is also in a great location, with plenty to see nearby. The rooms were clean, and there were plenty of amenities that made the stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. The noise level in the rooms was very low. Overall, it was good value for money. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to others as well.

Location was very practical for what I needed but the rooms have no aircon and were very hot and stuffy. The music from the bars on Gas St basin was so loud that the bed was vibrating with the bass beat (& felt even louder because of course I needed the window open). Rooms are very small compared to many other Premier Inns and you need to park offsite
