Hakuna Majiwe is a safe, clean, and well-maintained location, offering a pleasant living environment. It is advisable to prepare a well-structured budget, as there may be unexpected costs, such as the Zanzibar government tourism taxes. While prices are somewhat higher than average, which is typical for similar destinations, the quality of services provided is excellent and meets expectations.

After a week of safari in mainland, we were dleighted to rest in such a great place. The team had been very welcoming and always available. The Chef has developped a tasty menu - always fresh products for good value. Our kids were taught how to play local games while we had a relaxing time enjoying Julia’s massage or discussing with the team. We all enjoyed walking along the peaceful and beautiful beach only 10 minutes walk from the busy Jambiani where you can find bars if you’re looking for a fun night. We were only one hour away from the Stone Town or the North beach where you swam with dolphins. The whole team, includinf the kitesurf instructoe, has been very friendly and helpful. Our kids loved it here!

Our stay at Hakuna Majiwe was amazing. The location is great, close to Paje center, yet far enough to have a quiet time, surounded by beautiful nature. The crown jewel of this hotel are it`s employees. They made sure that we had everything we needed and they made us fall in love with the kindness of swahili people. Chef Chedrak and David`s food was amazing and they made sure that we love the dishes every day and that we do not leave hungry. The food at the restaurant was such good quality, that we couldn`t get ourselves to eat someplace else the whole stay. The yard was always clean and well kept and we even saw monkeys in front of our room. The only thing that wasn`t 5/5 were the rooms. They cleaned everyday, but some elements were just old and deteriorated, like the bed canopy or the bathroom faucets. All in all, we had a great vacation, the employees and chefs were great and we left with a good impression, willing to come back.

Staying at Hakuna Majiwe felt like finding a hidden slice of paradise, a real good value for money. It was made even more special by the incredible team that runs the place. I came here with my parents and my sister this summer, end of July approx. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine care that it felt like coming home. The staff here aren’t just doing their jobs—they’re truly passionate about making your stay unforgettable. Every interaction, from the friendly greetings in the morning to the thoughtful touches throughout the day, showed how much they genuinely care about their guests' experience. They cared a lot, helping with the suitcases, bringing the food to the room (room service), showing a service and type of staff seen nowhere but as in Hakuna Majiwe. What really stood out to me, though, was the food. Breakfast had a variety in worldwide and local food, which is thanked to try the flavors from Zanzibar. Every meal was a treat, bursting with fresh, local flavors, they tasted amazing, hats off to the chef, who even asked us if everything was good! The chefs clearly put their heart into every meal, and it shows. If we had to mention a downside, we would say that, as we kind of came in a time in which there were no guests, we missed a bit more of activity, animation at the hotel… Though, some new guests came the last 2 days we had there. Hakuna Majiwe isn’t just a hotel; it’s a place where you feel truly looked after, where every detail is taken care of so you can fully relax and enjoy your surroundings. The amazing staff, food and decoration made my stay here something I’ll always remember fondly! Thanks!!

A little house on a very white beach and lots of good food , we were very satisfied especially for the beautiful excursions of Raoul , the sound of the sea , no windows, just the Africa we were looking for,clean room with mosquito nets every day towels, perfett!!! A dream

Posto magnifico, la spiaggia più bella e più tranquilla dell’isola. Passegiando sulla spiaggia si arriva tranquillamente a Paje e Jambiani in poco tempo. pulizia sempre perfetta (sistemano la stanza ogni mattina e se serve anche una volta in più, cambiano gli asciugamani ogni volta che viene richiesto, e vengono la sera a chiudere le zanzariere e fare servizio zanzare). personale super disponibile, pronto a soddisfare ogni esigenza. Colazione ottima, sia dolce che salata, pranzi e cene con piatti ottimi. Peccato che non ci sia scritto da nessuna parte che la struttura principale sia crollata…ma sono riusciti a ricreare un bello spazio con i tavoli in spiaggia. Il perdonale è fantastico, parlano inglese, sono sempre gentili, aiutano con il trasporto bagagli, chiedono sempre se si hanno richieste extra, fanno controllo 24 ore su 24 al cancello di ingressi del resort. Tornerei sicuramente volentieri!

Just the right place if you want total relaxation and connect with nature as the property is surround by trees and beautiful coastline. True to the name, the sand is white and no stones. We were upgraded as our room AC unfortunately developed a problem. The manager Mr. Sourav made sure our stay was very comfortable. The Chef went out of his way to make sure we had nice seafood cuisine. Kudos to Mr. Sourav, Chef and the entire team!! The pool and it's surrounding environment which is also covered by trees giving you the feeling of being in the forest was amazing. On the flip side, the rooms should be fitted with glass windows so that the room gets cooled with AC. A place I will recommend.

Wij hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad bij Hakuna Majiwe in Paje. Bij aankomst werden wij enthousiast verwelkomt met een drankje. De locatie is prachtig en direct aan het strand met uitzicht op de Indische Oceaan. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk, het eten is goed en dag trips kunnen naar wens geboekt worden bij de receptie. Dartbord, tafeltennis tafel en voetbaltafel aanwezig. Gratis wifi (ook in kamers en bij het zwembad). De kamer en badkamer is ruim en sfeervol en op het terras hangt een hangmat om te ontspannen met uitzicht op de oceaan. Een groot zwembad is aanwezig met ligstoelen. Dat vonden mijn kinderen heerlijk. De lodge kan wat onderhoud gebruiken (likje verf, parasols bij zwembad etc) maar het is schoon en de omgeving en gastvriendelijkheid zijn top. Hakuna Majiwe ligt dicht vlakbij (30 min lopen/ 5 min met auto) het centrum van Paje waar supermarkt, apotheek, restaurant, bar en bank etc te vinden zijn. Asanteni sana! Tutaonana!
