Guest：Wonderful stay! Not fancy but great attention to detail: kind staff, comfortable beds, great air-conditioning (which you need in August!) We had a family room that suited our family of 4 comfortably. Also, absolutely do not miss having dinner at the restaurant- it looks unassuming and typical- but the food is incredible!! We also enjoyed the pool and spa. This hotel has everything you need, done just right, and nothing you don't need- which also makes it a very good value!! Finally, I left a shirt behind and they emailed me (I hadn't even realized I left it) and offered to mail it to me :-)
Guest：It was my second time at the abrigo da montanha, this time as a stop off between the Santander ferry and Lisbon. Great location in the mountains, lovely to have the small spa for a bit of relaxation, and the slightly fancier room with the jacuzzi bath. As with my last visit, the best elements were the amazing views of the mountains in Sabugueiro and the staff, all of whom were lovely. We ate really well (hearty mountain food) at dinner, with exceptional wine from Casa da Passarella at really reasonable prices. Breakfast was great, too. I would definitely stay there again, if I were in the area.
Guest：Mountain retreat A spacious and comfortable room, excellent restaurant, and a lovely little pool with a mountain view. I loved the village and the dogs.
Guest：Stayed for two nights and I was sad to leave. The food was amazing, the staff were amazing (and spoke fantastic English - to make up for my terrible Portuguese) and the room was super comfortable. The swimming pool and saunas were clean and pleasant and I also had a foot treatment which was the best I’ve ever had! For the price I cannot fault it at all. Thank you to all of the staff, especially the two ladies at the front desk that I interacted with and the gentleman in the restaurant, I had a really nice time.
