Guest：Gorgeous, stunning, lovely… and that’s the just the staff! I arrived at the hotel already fighting a stubborn cold, but this turned out to be the perfect basecamp for recovering and exploring. The whole stay felt like a calm little adventure — the kind where the food is incredible, the sleep is restorative, and the staff are so genuinely lovely that you start wondering if they’ve been handpicked for their charm. First, the food: absolutely fantastic. Every meal was one of those “oh wow, this is actually amazing” moments. Even with a blocked nose, I could tell the kitchen knows exactly what it’s doing. The sleep was equally great — proper, deep, peaceful rest. The kind that makes you forget what day it is in the best possible way. But the real highlight was the staff. They’re funny, warm, naturally charming, and honestly the heart of the place. They make everything feel relaxed and personal, and they’re a huge part of what makes the hotel feel special. I also loved flying across the lake (please bring jet skis to the resort I’d be down ). The views were wide, quiet, and beautiful — the kind of scenery that makes you breathe a little deeper, even with a cold. A gentle suggestion… Since the gardens are currently being renovated, I think there’s a brilliant opportunity to add a bit more soul that matches the personality of the staff and the spirit of the place. The setting has big skies and a lovely sense of openness, so a small stargazing corner — not a full observatory, just a little spot with a guide, or notes about the night sky — would be amazing. Something simple, atmospheric, and unique to the landscape. Overall: a gorgeous stay with fantastic people, great food, and the kind of scenery that makes you want to wander around and see more. I’d absolutely come back — preferably without the cold next time, so I can enjoy everything even more.
Guest：When we arrived at the hotel the first impression was wow. Stunning location on lake Windermere, beautiful building, well decorated for Christmas with a gorgeous huge Christmas tree. Good enough parking for many cars. I felt check in needs to be improved. The check in area is small and there is often a queue. There is only a small table and one seating area for two but when all guests arrive at check in time together it’s not the best. The check in staff were lovely and welcomed us very well. We had afternoon tea which was nice and good quality. I did feel it was aesthetically better than the taste but still enjoyed it. One down side - I asked for a beef sandwich to be replaced with a salmon but instead they gave me no beef and no salmon. Alex was an exceptional member of staff all through our stay. Our room was absolutely stunning. Well decorated and had a view of lake Windermere - breathtaking views. Favourite part was the bathtub right by the window so you could look at the lake. Housekeeping did an excellent service -So professional over the phone and whenever we needed something. Rooms were always done to a great standard. We stayed for 3 nights and before the third night sleep they changed our sheets which didn’t go unnoticed. Turn down service exceptional. We did go for a more expensive larger room as looking at the dimensions on the room description the smallest rooms seemed to mo small as highlighted in other reviews. Heating easy to operate. Great shower pressure and no random hot and cold moments which you can get in some places ! Lovely amenities including bath oil and salt. TV easy to operate and you can get your own Netflix on there. Communal areas beautiful and loved the snack stations. We had lovely weather so we were outdoors a lot but would absolutely love to see a spa and gym at this hotel. It was a bit disappointing that some rooms which were priced lower had access to an outdoor spa bath. Dining in the evening was exceptional except for one fries that we got - was shocked they were 7￡ as they were really dreary when they got to our table. Pork dish was the best we have ever had. Venison was also beautiful. The chocolate box was a masterpiece visually and taste wise. Loved the gorgeous bread that came before hand. Breakfast was lovely however one morning I ordered scrambled eggs with salmon and they bought be scrambled egg and told me they had ran out of salmon. This should have been told to me before so I could have chosen differently. What completely tarnished our trip was our check out. I received a final bill by email on our final morning. I woke up with an absolute shock that it was about 300￡ too much but we have all been there where we have spent more than we thought so I thought it was my fault. I went downstairs to check it and on review they had just charged us a whole ￡200 for dinner (even though we had the dinner supplement so this should have been about 50￡). I thought it was settled and went

During our 3-day vacation, we even felt no need to leave the property. The most relaxing moments everyday were dining by windows overlooking the lake, and strolling along the shore to admire the breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. The actual room was much bigger than photos shown online, with high-quality equipments and supplies. The breakfast offered exquisite variety, and the hotel's dinner was impressive! We've been missing Langdale Chase Hotel and Lake Windermere since the very first day we left.
