We stayed in an absolutely beautiful junior suite, with an exquisite bathroom, shower and toiletries. Staff were welcoming and courteous. We had drinks in the smart but still cosy and comfortable Bubble Bar and breakfast the following morning was served in the lovely restaurant and was delicious. As expected, an excellent hotel.

Birthday night away. Very grand lounge and smart staff. Had some good martinis and lovely cup of tea. Spent the late afternoon and evening in the bar. Cosy and warm. Nice room, very spacious but felt odd like furniture missing! Bathroom dated. Good bed and bedding :-) Breakfast was terrible, let’s the hotel down. Asked for cream cheese bagels and was given what tasted like whipped cream - defo not cream cheese. Continental was very poor for such a lovey hotel. Really dissatisfied.

It’s fine but not amazing I wasn’t bowled over, the hotel could do with a make over, it’s fine but not amazing.

Lovely stay Lovely stay in a really nice hotel Looking very slightly grubby round to the edges but I think this added to the charm Amazing breakfast and excellent dhiwer

The hotel bar man who worked on Saturday night was Amazing and our trip would not of been the same without his hard work, efficiency and kindness ! ( we forgot to get his name) but thankyou so much !

Great hotel, comfortable, bathrooms nice and big. great location- fabulous wine! Downside- room was too hot, no option to turn heater off which needs addressed. Breakfast needs improvement- not the selection but functionality - I think chef was having an off day :)

If 4.9/5 was an option I'd rate it that. So yes I would recommend Hotel du vin, with a few caveats First, the room was lovely, bed was very comfy, and the staff where amazing! Full 5 star treatment. Lovely furnishing, and overall a really nice hotel. The reason it's not 5 stars from me, the toilet handle wasn't working, you had to pump it to get it to flush and it felt like it may break when you did pump it. The toilet seat wasn't placed right so when you sat on the toilet you would get knocked in the back with it. It was quite funny, or at least we laughed about it, but not ideal and not what I would expect from a suite. The overall comfort level was high, and the bed could sleep 5 with how big it was. Extremely comfy. shower head was at a funny angle so I had to stand really close to the shower dial, which defeats the point of having a massive walk in shower but still a great room, the air freshener flashed blue at night so it was like having a mini police car in the room, once again we did laugh about this and it was simple enough to just unplug it. The main issue we had is on the last night we returned quite late from our day out and took the lift back to the 3rd floor, when we got to the second floor the lift stalled on 2 then the screen flashed, lift failure!! We both look at each other in a panic then laughed, as we reach for the call button the lift shuddered and started back up and reached the final floor. This is in no way the staff or hotels fault, so my advice is to take the stair!! 4.9/5, thanks hdv

Hotel not living up to the Hotel Du Vin Brand Name Reserved a luxury room with breakfast. Two out three lamps in room did not work. Shower sealant worn, dirty and needs replacing. Problem with plumbing. No hot water. Shower ran cold. No apologies.

It sounds like there were several issues with your room that should have been addressed, especially given that you reserved a luxury room.It's frustrating when things like broken lamps, worn sealant, and plumbing problems aren't taken care of, and it's even worse when there's no hot water and no apologies from the staff.

Hotel is beautiful but in real need of refurbishment. The heating doesn't work properly and the noise from the ventilation systems makes it very hard to sleep. The thermostats aren't controllable from the rooms so it's impossible to stop the noise overnight. Breakfast was ok but not up to normal Hotel du Vin standard, with a long wait before orders were taken and staff not noticing when the stock of clean cups ran low and the urn ran out of water. On a positive note, the maintenance team attended and organised a room change very promptly when incredibly hot water kept running out of the cold water tap! I stayed as part of a group and all of us experienced separate issues, so unfortunately this wasn't a one off. It's a real shame as the building is beautiful but in urgent need to better upkeep.

Favorithotellet V?rt favorithotell i Birmingham. Stora, fina rum, trevlig och hj?lpsam personal. Frukosten alltid lika god och servicen i topp. N?r det g?ller milj?arbetet finns ytterligare att ?nska. L?t handdukarna vara. De kan anv?ndas minst tre dagar. Morgonrocken beh?ver inte heller bytas var tredje dag. Vi ?t en provsmakningsmeny med vinpaket och blev f?rtjusta. Mike som serverade visste massor om vinet och maten och s?g till att vi hade allt vi beh?vde. Dessutom smakade allt utomordentligt gott!
