  • Guest：The hotel and location exceed our expectations by a country mile. A lovely 19th C building in a quiet village built around a courtyard with a pool the whole atmosphere was relaxing. There are nice walks around the Tavers. The hotel decor fits the building really well and is kept beautifully clean by the team. The hotel owners live on-site and are lovely, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The ambience of the place makes a stay a great experience. As well as a good French breakfast they serve a simple but tasty evening meal from a limited menu, but it saves going into Beaugency to find a restaurant. The food is made from fresh ingredients. The wine list is extensive and from local vineyards. I would throughly recommend anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in the Loire valley to go to La Tonnellerie. My wife and I will have enjoyable memories of our stay (8 days) for many years to come.

  • Guest：La Tonnellerie is a very special place to stay. It is not modern and "smart" but, instead, has charm, warmth and character. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of breads, pastries, meats, cheeses, and house-made jams and yoghurts.. We received a warm welcome and very pleasant service. We were impressed with the aim to use local and organic produce, where possible, and with the general environmental awareness of the proprietors. The nearby town of Beaugency is worth a visit, for a view of the Loire and the impressive bridge, amongst other sights.
